Shallipopi gives reasons for rejecting multi-million naira deals

Renowned rapper and vocalist Crown Uzama, recognized by the stage moniker Shallipopi, sparked considerable chatter recently by revealing his decision to decline lucrative offers of N340 million ($300k) and N230 million ($200k) for his tracks "Elon Musk" and "Shapiru." Shallipopi, who provocatively dubbed music revenue as akin to ritualistic practices during a "Zero Condition" podcast appearance, shared that he could have easily succumbed to the financial allure, a path chosen by many of his peers. However, Shallipopi staunchly asserted that wealth isn't the be-all and end-all. His refusal stemmed from a conviction that life's essence transcends monetary pursuits.

Shallipopi elaborated on his resistance, expressing a desire to evade the shackles of dependency, where song releases hinge on external permissions. Advocating for emerging artists, he emphasized the importance of self-development over hastily embracing contractual agreements.
