Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has alluded to the underlying cause behind the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) opting for a nationwide strike. According to him, "It defies logic to bring the entire nation to a standstill due to a singular incident involving one individual in one state."
Making this assertion on his X page (formerly known as Twitter) @renoomokri, the socio-political commentator suggested that Ajaero's presence in Imo state was linked to campaigning for the Labour Party candidate, Athan Achonu, in the recently concluded Imo governorship election. Omokri implied that Ajaero is advocating for the strike out of disappointment from losing the off-cycle election in Imo state. "
