More than thirty minutes of penile erection is harmful - Professor

In a recent lecture at the University of Ilorin, Prof. Ademola Popoola of the Department of Surgery delivered a startling message: sustaining an erection beyond 30 minutes during sexual activity can pose serious health risks for men.

This intriguing revelation came as Prof. Popoola presented his paper at the university's milestone 250th Inaugural Lecture, intriguingly titled “That All May Pee in Peace”.

He emphatically advised, “Any individual experiencing an erection lasting over half an hour should seek immediate medical attention.”

Prof. Popoola emphasized the urgency of medically terminating such prolonged erections to ensure future sexual health and functionality.

He further shed light on an unusual aspect of penile health, noting that research indicates a higher incidence of ruptures on the right side of the penis compared to the left. This, he pointed out, is a curious phenomenon, adding yet another layer to the complex nature of human sexual health.
