Donald Trump to carry out mass detention and deportation of illegal immigrants should he win 2024 election

In the potential scenario of Donald Trump securing victory in the 2024 election, there are discussions about a significant escalation in his stringent immigration measures, reminiscent of his initial term. Recent reports from The New York Times and CNN shed light on Trump's intentions to intensify efforts against undocumented immigrants.

The proposed actions involve the mass roundup of undocumented individuals within the United States, relocating them to detention camps in anticipation of deportation. The expansive strategy calls for the establishment of sizable camps and the mobilization of federal and local law enforcement for widespread arrests of undocumented immigrants nationwide.

Should the US Congress withhold funding for these operations, Trump is prepared to employ a strategy reminiscent of his first term, redirecting funds from the Pentagon to support the initiative.

Addressing a Florida rally, Trump vowed to execute "the largest domestic deportation operation in American history," expressing concerns about potential criminals entering the country through the US-Mexico border. During the same event on November 11, he pledged to sign an executive order on the first day of a potential second term, redirecting funds from sheltering and transporting undocumented immigrants to benefit homeless veterans.

Furthermore, Trump asserted that President Joe Biden had spent over $1 million on housing undocumented immigrants in luxurious hotels across the nation. Campaigning in Florida, he highlighted his travel ban on predominantly Muslim countries as a "strong" and "powerful" measure.

In a separate commitment made in Florida, Trump promised to "terminate all work permits for illegal aliens" and urged Congress to draft legislation prohibiting all welfare payments to illegal migrants. He also issued warnings about caravans approaching the US border from Mexico and declared his intent to prosecute groups and charities facilitating large-scale unlawful immigration.

Former senior Trump administration official Stephen Miller, a key figure in Trump's immigration policy, emphasized Trump's unwavering determination, asserting that any doubts about Trump's commitment would be a significant mistake.

Responding to the reports, the Biden campaign issued a strong statement, characterizing Trump's plans as "the horrifying reality that awaits the American people if Donald Trump is allowed anywhere near the Oval Office again." Ammar Moussa, a spokesman for the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign, condemned the proposed policies as extreme, racist, and cruel, designed to exploit fear and division for electoral gain.
